On Saturday, the U.S. men's
basketball team clinched its fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal with a 98-87
victory over France. Steph Curry played a pivotal role in the win, sinking
three crucial three-pointers in the game's final two minutes, finishing with 24
points on 8-for-13 shooting from beyond the arc. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker
contributed 15 points each, while LeBron James added 14 points, 10 assists, and
six rebounds. Anthony Davis dominated the boards, leading both teams with 10
rebounds and four blocks.
Three-point shooting proved to
be a decisive factor in the match, as Team USA shot an impressive 50%
(18-for-36) from three-point range, compared to France's 30% (9-for-30). This
victory marked Durant's fourth Olympic gold medal, setting a record for the
most golds in men's basketball history, while James also secured his fourth
Olympic medal, which includes three golds and a bronze.
On the French side, Victor
Wembanyama stood out with a game-high 26 points and seven rebounds, with
Guerschon Yabusele adding 20 points and Nando De Colo contributing 12. Despite
their strong performance, the French team was unable to overcome the American
squad, which continues to showcase its dominance in international basketball.
